Business Fraud Consulting

When a supplier's bank details are quietly changed, a compromised mailbox is used to redirect a payment, or a fraudster impersonates a director, the hours and days that follow are chaotic. Banks, insurers, and lawyers all need the same thing at once: a clear, evidenced account of what happened and where the money went.

Our role is to help you build exactly that. We assess the incident, map the payment flow, organise the evidence into a coherent case file, and note the process gaps the incident exposed — so the people who can act, such as your bank, the police, and your own advisers, have the best possible material to work with.

What you receive

  • A confidential assessment of the incident, including how the fraud was executed and which parties were involved
  • A payment-flow analysis documenting the transfers, accounts, and institutions in the chain, as far as available records allow
  • An organised case file of correspondence, invoices, payment records, and internal approvals, prepared for banks, insurers, police, or lawyers
  • A written summary of process-gap observations, such as weaknesses in supplier-detail verification or payment approval, to inform your own remediation
  • Coordination support: help preparing the notifications, recall requests, and information packs your bank and advisers will ask for

Who it is for

  • Companies that paid a genuine invoice to fraudulent bank details after a supplier impersonation or invoice-redirection attack
  • Businesses affected by business email compromise, where a compromised or spoofed mailbox was used to divert a payment
  • Finance teams that need an independent, organised record of an incident for their bank, insurer, board, or auditors
  • Owners and directors who want a clear picture of what went wrong before deciding on legal or insurance steps

Process

How this service works

  1. Initial assessment

You describe the incident and share what records you hold. We review the case at no cost and tell you honestly whether documented analysis can add value, or whether you should go straight to your bank, police, or a lawyer.

  2. Scope and quote in writing

If paid work makes sense, we propose a defined scope with a fixed written quote before anything begins. We do not charge a percentage of any amount recovered, because recovery is never within our control.

  3. Documentation and analysis

We reconstruct the timeline, map the payment flow from your records, organise the evidence, and record our observations on how the fraud bypassed your controls.

  4. Delivery and coordination support

You receive the case file and written report, and we help you prepare the submissions your bank, insurer, police, or legal advisers request, working alongside — never instead of — those channels.

Honest limitations

  • We cannot recover, freeze, or reverse payments. Recall requests, account freezes, and legal action sit with banks, law enforcement, and the courts, and no outcome can be promised.
  • Our analysis is built from the records you and your counterparties can provide; where records are missing or institutions decline to share information, the picture will have gaps.
  • We are not a law firm, an insurer, or an IT forensics provider. Where the incident calls for legal advice, an insurance claim, or a technical investigation of compromised systems, we say so and point you to the appropriate specialists.
